Laser Cutting

Initially i haven't planned to use the laser cutting in my project as all my parts are custom design and have a little irregular shapes, which cant be made using laser cutting
But Due to covid 19 Pandemic there was a disruption in local supply chain of filter's as well filter media , after contacting almost 8 suppliers , only 1 supplier was willing to help me
Like other's he is also suffering from same supply crises , but with a little persiation he agreed to provide me with filter print media as he also has shorting of filter with him so he generously send me 3 different sample of of Filter media and also taught me how i can make filter's at my place

This is WF1 grade filter , it can stops 80% polutent upto 1 microns

This is G1 grade filter , it can stops 30% polutent upto 10 microns

This is G4 grade filter , it can stops 35% polutent upto .5 microns

Filter Housing Designing

As i have mention in the Design week that internal diameter of the filter will be 108 mm and outer is arounf 120 mm , so i was require to make the filter housing a little bit interfarance fit so i t wont move here and there

Oter diameter for this circle is 108 mm and Inner will be 100 mm

For air to pass i have made this hexagonal pattern and pasted it on only one side so the filter's will get a little bit of support

This is the design for the improved part , as it has smaller but more wholes and i try to make aximum open as possible

Cutting parameter:
MinimumPower(%) : 80
MinimumPower(%) : 80
Speed (mm/s) : 20

I am attaching all the CAD Files here if you want you can download these files click on this link it contains DWG as well as DXF files

Time for assembly

From the Coumputer -Controlled - machining i understand that cuttiing only circles of any material is nly wasting that material

If you look closelin the image you can see that in the left i have cutted 4 mm vlack acrylic and in the right its 4 mm cardboard pieces

Then i have assembled them 1 on 1 like there are 3 layers of acrylic and 2 layers of cardboard which are pasted on each other in a sequence

After the pasted the patterned transparent sheet on the bottom

This image shows the side way of filter mounting
